Celebrating Saturday

Happy Saturday! I have yet to figure out how to do a podcast or a radio playlist or something like that…So I’m just going to post as I listen. So there.

When I visualize him playing, I have a difficult time NOT seeing Dennis Quaid. I was explaining this to my sin-in-law this morning and felt I should further explain it by showing him a bit from the movie and a bit from The Killer himself. I forgot how much I really love his music and the possessed manner in which he plays.

Hayes Carll – Drunken Poet’s Dream

I first heard Hayes Carll when he opened for Steve Earle in Calgary, AB. It was just Hayes on stage, a solo presentation of warbley acoustic awesomeness. I was in love with him immediately. So much so that I felt a little bit guilty and had to apologize to Tom Waits every time… Well that is a bit of an exaggeration. I love them both… It wasn’t every time.
